Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)

Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) with speaker Dr. Hetty Rohayani, S.T., M.Kom., held on February 4–5, 2025 at the FILKOM UNH Campus.

The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Workshop aims to enhance understanding and implementation of the outcome-based learning approach in higher education. OBE has become a standard in accreditation systems and educational quality assurance to ensure that graduates possess competencies aligned with the needs of industry and society.

Objectives of the Workshop:

1. To provide an in-depth understanding of the concept of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
2. To improve lecturers’ skills in developing OBE-based curricula.
3. To formulate strategies for implementing OBE in educational institutions.
4. To strengthen study programs’ readiness in preparing for OBE-based accreditation.

Results and Evaluation

The workshop received positive feedback from participants, reflecting strong enthusiasm in understanding and applying OBE. Several key outcomes from the activity include:

• Increased participant understanding of the OBE concept and its application in curriculum development.
• Drafts of OBE-based curricula successfully prepared by each participant.
• Identification of challenges and potential solutions in implementing OBE within their respective institutions.

Conclusion and Recommendations

The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) workshop successfully enhanced participants’ capacity to understand and implement OBE in teaching and curriculum development. As a follow-up, it is recommended that:

1. Each institution conduct internal socialization on OBE for all academic staff.
2. Additional training be held on OBE implementation and evaluation.
3. Internal policies be developed to ensure the sustainability of OBE implementation within the academic system.
