The Alumni Association (IKA) of Universitas Nurdin Hamzah (UNH) for the 2025–2029 period was officially inaugurated in a festive ceremony held at the Auditorium of the Governor’s Official Residence of Jambi on Thursday afternoon (27/11/2025).
The event was attended by the UNH academic community, including the rector, vice rectors, lecturers, students, as well as representatives from the Provincial and City Governments of Jambi. The warm and proud atmosphere accompanied the inauguration procession, marking an important moment in strengthening the role of UNH alumni within society.
The committee chair, Septrian, expressed gratitude to all parties who contributed to the successful and solemn execution of the event.
The newly elected Chair of IKA UNH, Fiet Haryadi, M.Kom, stated that UNH alumni from the class of 1992 to 2023 now total around 35,000 individuals, who have contributed across various sectors including government, business, academia, media, bureaucracy, and social development.
Fiet emphasized that the presence of IKA UNH is not merely a platform for networking, but also a space for collaboration and meaningful contribution.
“We want the purple alumni to become drivers of change, role models in public service, and strategic partners for local governments and all stakeholders,” he said.
He hopes that the IKA UNH board will strengthen alumni networking and communication while becoming a campus partner in improving educational quality.
The Rector of UNH, Dr. Samsuddin, expressed full appreciation for the establishment of the new board.
“Feel free to innovate and create programs. The university is ready to support,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, the Assistant I of the Jambi Provincial Government, Arief Munandar, who represented the Governor of Jambi, conveyed his congratulations and expressed hope that IKA UNH would become a strategic partner in regional development. He highlighted the importance of alumni contributions in developing industry-based curricula, career development, and digital literacy for the younger generation.
Arief also encouraged IKA UNH to play a role in developing research and data studies that can serve as references for government policymaking.
“Alumni possess academic capacity and field experience that can provide more precise insights for regional development,” he said.
